You can join the Moanaroa Pacific Research Network as either a general or an affiliate member.
General membership (AUT staff/students only)
Tangata Moana (Pacific) AUT researchers can join the network through an expression of interest.
Expectations of general members:
- All members are committed to upholding the objectives of the Moanaroa Pacific Research Network
- Provide specialist advice on the network’s strategic initiatives as invited and agreed by the governance group
- Contribute to and participate in caucus groups within the network
- Members are committed to contributing to Pacific onto-epistemologies, methodologies and research practices
- All members are committed to ethical research principles and practices in undertaking Pacific research
- Attend the annual general meeting
Affiliated membership
Pacific and non-Indigenous Pacific researchers, including those external to AUT, can apply or be nominated by the governance group for affiliated membership, acknowledging that this network prioritises research that develops and implements knowledge creation processes that come from within and for Indigenous Pacific communities.
To join the network as an affiliated member, submit your expression of interest to the secretary of the governance group.
Expectations of affiliated members:
- All members are committed to upholding the objectives of the Moanaroa Pacific Research Network
- Provide specialist advice on the network’s strategic initiatives as invited and agreed by the governance group
- Contribute to and participate in caucus groups within the network when invited and agreed with the caucus leads
- Attend the annual general meeting
